Associate Professor Ph.D. Eugenia HARJA
Asisstant PhD. Student Oana-Ancuta STANGACIU
University from Bacău, Romania

Abstract

This paper is a brief statistical analysis of the touristy activity for the period 2000-2007 in the member states of the European Union 27. After a short presentation of the definitions used for the observed or calculated touristy indicators, comparable among the member states, I have presented and analyzed the existent occupancy in tourist accommodation establishments and also the touristy intensity. I have emphasized each time the place of Romania among the member states, preferring always the graphic images, being much more relevant in the analysis than a presentation of the data in tables. At the end of the analysis I have briefly presented the evolution of Romania for some touristy indicators used in the chapters before, and also the main conclusions.

The methodology applied in the analysis of the accommodation capacity in operation of the tourist facilities in Romania is based on the statistic data taken over from the National Institute of Statistics (Statistic Directories, The statistic databases TEMPO-Online).

THE ANALYSIS OF ROMANIAN TOURISM COMPETITIVENESS WITHIN THE CONDITIONS OF THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS

Abstract
The Romanian tourism has taken up a modest position within the classification of tourism and travels, according to an analysis carried out by the experts of The World Economic Forum, due to low interest that the government offers to this field, due to the infrastructure's quality and natural environment, due to the effect of taxes and decisional transparency of the authorities.
This lack of competitiveness, as concerns the autochthonous touristic product on the external level, has paradoxically determined that the impact of financial crisis to become moderate regarding the Romanian tourism, as some of the field specialists have affirmed. According to other specialists, the financial crisis might affect the autochthonous tourism during about two years, and the business area might be the most affected. Otherwise, considering the international level, the tourism will be affected in the following years by the global economic crisis, since all prices will increase, and the people will pay more attention when spending their amounts of money.

Abstract
The aim of this research is to analyze the satisfaction concept in the context of traditional tourism versus E-tourism and the challenges a costumer faces when confronted with the virtual environment.
The research on customer behaviour indicates that models that describe customer satisfaction in traditional tourism are also applicable to e-tourism. Web site characteristics, merchandising, site design, financial security, privacy and serviceability were found to significantly influence customer behaviour and E-Satisfaction level.
This paper tries to answer a few questions: (1) which are the basic models of tourist satisfaction? (2) What is the status research in the field of e-satisfaction? What is the relationship between traditional approaches of customer satisfaction and E-Satisfaction?

Abstract
The concept of rural development embodies a broad range of ideas and practices that defy easy definition. Loosely, rural development refers to the desire and effort to provide a better quality of life for rural people. But what constitutes a better quality of life and how this may be achieved are hotly debated issues. Indeed, the concept of rural development itself begs two important sets of questions. First, what is rural? Second, what is development? Is rural essentially agricultural? There are many questions which need an proper answer, so the herewith reflections were motivated from an apparent need on reviewing tourism concept, tourism market and tourism services, coming to light, not only from this study context, but also from implications that tourist use of certain rural areas brings out to environmental conservation. And the use of rural areas has been more and more evident by causing, sometimes, debatable transformations, which most of the time simply contribute with the spread of environment damages. That is the reason why there is a need of a study, of course, emphasized more towards the study of the behaviour from those who use these services to the exploration of it as business. An idea accepted by a great number of specialists in tourism today is that this is the industry which processes natural resources without deteriorating them and it cannot be generalized as a definition, for most general that is. And that is because tourism is a matter of business and this condition has established the process in which it is produced, advertised, sold as tourist services for consumers. The rural tourism scheme is included in local, regional or national development and has a variety of means of promotion and marketing, a great variety of participants. Common efforts to develop rural tourism represents an unanimous concern to put into practice and to proper valorize the tourist vocation of our country, who enjoy a privileged status in the geographic and touristic European space. The present study and the proposed method were raised by the original value of ethnography in Bacau county area, ranging in the spirit and practice of rural development, along with opportunities for promotion, supporingt this form of tourism in an area of county where there are not too many opportunities for business. By using inventory observations and ethnographic phenomenon, the authors have tried to design some possible touristic ethnographic activities, concluding beneficial impact on the development of agro tourism in Bacau County.

RURAL TOURISM - A BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FOR ENTREPRENEURS

University Assistant, Raluca Mariana PETRESCU
Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, Romania

Abstract
Entrepreneurship is a complex phenomenon that occurs in most sectors of activity and in various environments. Neither tourism, as sector of activity, nor the rural environment as a potential environment of manifesting entrepreneurship, makes an exception to the aforementioned rule. As a result, there are many different ways of manifesting entrepreneurship in the rural environment, the most important being rural tourism.
Rural tourism is the missing link between tourists and the place they visit in its entire complexity, including history, culture, habits, tradition, people, but also the piece of nature it represents. Rural tourism also represents an important source of income for the rural population, but also an important value generating factor, contributing to increased life quality in the rural environment.
Romania has a great potential for developing rural tourism, which could be a brand for our country, its business card, but also an important contributor to its economic growth.
This paper aims to present some arguments that support rural tourism as a business opportunity for entrepreneurs.
The paper tries to bring a contribution to the perception of Romanian rural tourism as a form of manifestation of entrepreneurship in order to encourage the initiation and development of business in this field.

Abstract
The current survey proposes identifying and evaluating the present situation of the rural tourist product through a more accurate research of the analyzed area's resources, services and of the content that these services must have depending on the demand and the exigency of the target audience. It is obvious that the tourist product and the tourist activity depend on tourist consumers' wishes and motivation. Today, when the competition between the domestic and the international tourist product strengthen, besides attracting the target audience we must attach a special importance to consumers' fidelization. The main demand imposed in achieving this goal consists of ensuring qualitatively superior conditions of performing the offered tourist services, the creation of elements to generate favourable and at the same time, durable impressions to visitors. In order to establish an active dialogue with the target audience, it is necessary to know tourists' motivations and satisfaction degree, as well as their suggestions. The progress of the investigation by survey supposes setting aims and presenting them in a clear and logical manner, by highlighting the relevance in comparison with the purposed goal. The preparation and the rigorous achievement implies the set of a program able to offer the possibility to acquire data as real as possible, after unfolding a logical succession of complex operations.
